Wind turbines are now leaving the country as complete machines, and the infrastructure is being reshaped to accommodate them.

From January to July this year, wind power equipment exported through Yangzhou Customs exceeded 1.8 billion yuan in value. Complete wind turbines now account for more than half of the port’s exports. The more notable shift is in composition: from component exports to complete machines, which now make up over 90 percent of the total, with high-value items like extra-long blades and large-tonnage towers continuing to gain share. Shipping complete turbines means they can be assembled and put into use immediately upon arrival, saving customers logistics costs and waiting time.

Behind this shift is a clustering effect. More than a dozen wind power production, agency, procurement, and logistics companies have gathered around Yangzhou Port. Products can reach the dock within minutes of rolling off the production line. Leveraging a complete industrial chain, overseas demand for high-end green equipment including wind power and lithium batteries remains strong. In the first half of this year, exports of lithium batteries and wind turbine generator sets grew 37.6 percent and 35.6 percent respectively in RMB terms.

The China Green Trade Development Report (2026) released by the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation provides a broader picture. China‘s green trade imports and exports reached $802.25 billion in 2025, accounting for 14.68 percent of global green trade and ranking first worldwide. Green product exports reached $442.63 billion, up 14.62 percent year-on-year. Energy-saving and carbon-reduction products plus clean energy products together accounted for 82.35 percent of green exports. China now supplies about 70 percent of the world’s wind power equipment and 80 percent of photovoltaic modules.

Wind equipment companies are accelerating their international expansion. At WindEnergy Hamburg, CRRC showcased its full wind power supply chain. The company has more than 20 wind turbine manufacturing facilities serving nearly 400 wind farms worldwide, with products sold in Germany, Denmark, France, Australia, and other markets. Its 7.15MW D195 turbine received type certification from TÜV SÜD. Dongfang Electric signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Zhejiang Energy Group, with Zhejiang‘s first wind blade manufacturing base landing in Wenzhou and a deep-sea wind technology research center unveiled at the same event.

One trend worth watching is manufacturing companies extending into service segments. Dajin Heavy Industry signed a design contract with Norwegian ship design firm Ulstein for a next-generation offshore foundation installation vessel. This marks the company’s formal entry into the offshore wind installation segment and a key step toward becoming an integrated “manufacturing + transport + home port + installation” delivery provider. Moving from selling equipment to selling services is a classic signal of value chain upward mobility.

In lithium battery equipment, Lead Intelligent‘s new-generation mass-production dry coating equipment was recently delivered to a global comprehensive lithium battery manufacturer. The equipment underwent deep architectural iteration for large-scale industrial production, equipped with a multi-dimensional intelligent control system that enables online adjustment of roll pressure, speed, temperature, and gap. Dry coating is seen as a key path to reducing battery manufacturing costs and energy consumption. The delivery of mass-production equipment means this technology route is moving from the lab to the production line.

Energy storage equipment is also iterating rapidly. Pylontech’s 588Ah and 601Ah large-capacity storage cells have entered mass production, with cumulative output exceeding 100MWh. They are now applied in new-generation 6.25MWh and 8MWh large-scale storage systems and have entered project delivery. Huawei Digital Power showcased its grid-forming storage capabilities at the International Digital Energy Expo, including short-circuit capacity support, inertia response, and wideband oscillation damping. Its smart string grid-forming storage solution supports 1000VAC voltage and a 12.5MW/50MWh array.

From the widened highway exit at Yangzhou Port to certification certificates at the Hamburg trade show, to 601Ah cells rolling off the line in Hefei, the new energy equipment sector is advancing on multiple fronts simultaneously. Complete turbine exports, mass-production dry coating, large-capacity storage cell delivery — these node events point in the same direction: equipment value-added is rising, and the delivery format is shifting from single machines to systems, from products to capabilities.

"_seopress_social_twitter_img_attachment_id":0
["post-3659","news","type-news","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry
["GET
