Box type substation, also known as prefabricated substation or prefabricated substation. It is a compact factory prefabricated indoor and outdoor distribution equipment consisting of high-voltage switchgear, distribution transformers, and low-voltage distribution devices arranged according to a certain wiring scheme. It organically combines the functions of transformer voltage reduction and low-voltage distribution, and is installed in a moisture-proof, rust proof, dustproof, rodent proof, fireproof, anti-theft, insulated, fully enclosed, and movable steel structure box. It is particularly suitable for urban network construction and renovation, and is a new type of substation that has emerged after civil engineering substations. Box type substations are suitable for mining, factory enterprises, oil and gas fields, and wind power stations. They replace the original civil engineering distribution rooms and stations, becoming a new type of complete power transformation and distribution equipment.
Working principle of box transformer: Box type substation (abbreviated as box transformer) is a compact complete set of distribution equipment that combines high-voltage switchgear distribution transformers, low-voltage switchgear, energy metering equipment, and reactive power compensation devices in one or several boxes according to a certain wiring scheme. It is suitable for use in three-phase AC systems with a rated voltage of 10/0.4KV, as a line and for distributing electrical energy.
The transformer room is generally located at the rear. In order to facilitate user maintenance, replacement, and capacity expansion needs, transformers can be easily pulled out of the box or suspended from the top. Due to the transformer being placed inside the casing, its advantageous factor is that it can prevent the temperature rise caused by direct sunlight on the transformer, and effectively prevent external collision, impact, and touch induced electrical accidents; There is an independent enclosed high-voltage switchgear installed inside the high-voltage switchgear room. Generally, there are gas producing, compressed air or vacuum type load switch fuse combination appliances installed inside the cabinet. The high-voltage fuse installed on it can ensure that the main switch can be opened when any phase fuse is blown, to avoid phase loss operation. In addition, a grounding switch is also installed, which is interlocked with the main switch. Only after separating the main switch can the grounding switch be closed. However, after closing the grounding switch, the main switch cannot be closed to ensure maintenance. There is also a high-voltage lightning arrester installed inside the cabinet, making the operation of the entire switch very convenient. By using a dedicated matching handle, all switches can be turned on and off. At the same time, the opening and closing status of the main switch can also be observed through a transparent window.
Low voltage switchgear: Generally, the low-voltage switchgear is equipped with a main switch, various distribution branch switches, low-voltage circuit breakers, instrument displays of voltage, total current, and branch current. At the same time, in order to protect the operation of the transformer, measures are often taken to monitor the upper oil temperature of the transformer. When the oil temperature reaches a dangerous temperature, it can automatically stop working on the low-pressure side (disconnect the load on the low-pressure side), and of course, its action value can be set according to requirements.
Shell and protection: Each switchgear of the box transformer is made into independent cabinets and installed inside the shell, which can be easily replaced and maintained, while also improving the protection ability and safety. The steel plate shell is treated with special anti-corrosion technology, which can provide protection for more than 20 years. At the same time, the upper cover adopts a double-layer structure to reduce the thermal radiation of sunlight. Its appearance can be matched with various colors that are coordinated with the usage environment according to user requirements, to achieve a decorative effect that is suitable for the natural environment.
Characteristics of Box Substation
The box type substation is mainly composed of a multi circuit high-voltage switch system, armored busbar, comprehensive automation system of the substation, communication, remote control, metering, capacitor compensation, and DC power supply electrical units. It is installed in a moisture-proof, rust proof, dustproof, rodent proof, fireproof, anti-theft, insulated, fully enclosed, and movable steel structure box, with electromechanical integration and fully enclosed operation.
Flexible combination of box type substations
Due to its compact structure, each box forms an independent system, making the combination method flexible and varied. On the one hand, we can adopt a box type substation, which means that all 35kV and 10kV equipment can be installed inside the box, forming a full box type substation; It is also possible to use only 10kV switch boxes, install 35kV equipment outdoors, and install 10kV equipment and control protection systems inside. For this combination method, it is particularly suitable for the renovation of old stations in rural power grid renovation, where the original 35kV equipment is not moved and only one 10kV switch box is installed to achieve unmanned requirements. In short, there is no fixed combination mode for box type substations, and users can freely combine some modes according to actual situations to meet operational needs.
