Using the physical characteristics of methanol with high solubility and low boiling point, methanol can be separated, enriched and liquefied by heating, condensation, etc., which is widely used in pulp and paper industry and chemical industry.

PROCESS PRINCIPLE. Process principle

The difference of boiling point between methanol and water was used to separate and recover methanol. Since the boiling point of methanol is lower than that of water, methanol is more volatile, and the methanol content in the gas phase is higher than that in S0G. By adopting the striping tower principle, the S0G generated by the striping system enters the methanol tower, the condensation at the top of the tower falls layer by layer, the steam rises from the bottom of the tower, and the volatile light components are separated from the condensate. The gas with high methanol content is discharged from the top of the tower into the primary condenser, and finally methanol, NCG and dirty condensate are separated. The separated methanol goes through secondary condensation, and the concentration is finally purified to more than 80wt%.
