The LA-FI series of quick connectors is used for pressure and gas tightness testing of straight, drilled and female threaded components. It utilises the elastic sealing principle to seal round or rough surfaces and to accommodate test pieces with large tolerances.
Pneumatic actuation can be used for automated testing; the quick coupler utilises a frictional connection between the seal and the surface of the test piece, so that the quick coupler seal and the sealing surface of the test piece cannot be exposed to friction.
The quick couplings utilise friction between the seal and the surface of the test piece, therefore the sealing surfaces of the quick couplings and the test piece must not be exposed to water or other lubricants, and the quick couplings will not injure or damage the test piece.
Special two-position quick connectors are available on request to seal ports in close proximity to each other (see Fig. 1 and Fig. 2, special types), and LA-FI quick connectors with extended shafts are also available (see Fig. 3, special types).
Technical data:
Working pressure] Inlet B: from vacuum to max. 9 bar, other pressure ranges on request, when used in pressurised environments the LA-FI quick coupler must be secured by a fixing device, for vacuum only the LA-FI quick coupler must be secured by a fixing device.
When used in a pressurised environment, the LA-FI quick coupler must be secured by a fixing device, for vacuum applications only, no fixing device is required.
Drain rate] 10-3 mbar-l/s (10-4 Pa-m³/s)
Operating Temperature] +5℃～+80℃.
Body material]: Aluminium alloy for shell, piston and gasket.
[Seal material] Main seal is made of O-ring made of NBR/chloroprene. Optional polyurethane (Urethane) seals are available for applications with high wear and tear.
Test: Pressure and vacuum testing of straight pipes, bores and parts with internal threads. Other applications: filling, pressure and function tests, flushing, etc.
Components: Containers, plastic containers, medical components, valves, pumps, filters, pressure vessels and piping connections.
Test procedure] Fix the quick connector with the fixing fixture; Insert the LA-FI quick connector into the test piece, apply the control air source, and the quick connector is connected to this; apply the test air source; disconnect the connection; and connect the quick connector to the test piece.
Apply test air; when disconnecting, always release the test pressure first; release the control pressure and remove the quick connector.

Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 are quick connectors specially designed for cases where the required sealing line spacing is small.
Figure 3 shows the shaft extension type quick connector: the shaft extension type connector is used to seal surfaces that cannot be reached by the standard LA-FI type quick connector.
