The RUHSTRAT OLIVER DVR dynamic voltage restorer mainly consists of an energy storage element, an inverter, a switching switch, a bypass, etc. It is connected in series between the power supply and the protected load. Once it is found that the supply voltage deviates from the rated voltage level, the DVR will immediately cut off the input side power and provide qualified electrical energy for the load in a short time.

Working Principle: 

When the grid voltage is within the limit: 

When the grid supplies power to the load (in online mode), the inverter is dormant but remains synchronized with the grid voltage so that it can act immediately in case of grid disturbances. 

In case of a voltage sag: 

When a grid disturbance occurs instantaneously, the anti-parallel thyristors are quickly turned off, isolating the load from the grid, and the inverter supplies power to the load. 

When the grid voltage is stabilized again: 

The OLIVER anti-parallel thyristors conduct, the inverter circuit is turned off, and the load will be supplied by the grid again. The rectifier circuit recharges the energy storage capacitor. 

Fault-safe bypass operation: 

In case of OLIVER failure or maintenance, the load current will be automatically transferred to the fault-safe bypass. That is, the current will directly supply power to the load through the contactor or bypass switch of the anti-parallel thyristors.
