Shanghai Tianxiang & Chentai Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd. formerly known as the Shanghai Tianxiang Huaji Iron Works established in 1938. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it became the Shanghai No. 1 Pharmaceutical Machinery Factory. It was specialized in the R&D and manufacture of tablet presses. In 1957, the company was renamed "Shanghai Tianxiang Machinery Factory" after the public-private partnership. In 1966, it was renamed "Shanghai Dongfanghong Pharmaceutical Machinery Factory". In 1969, it was renamed "Shanghai No.1 Pharmaceutical Machinery Factory". In February 1992, it established a joint venture with Singapore and founded "Shanghai Tianxiang & Chentai Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd
