Shanghai Tianxiang & Chentai Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd. formerly known as the Shanghai Tianxiang Huaji Iron Works established in 1938. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, it became the Shanghai No. 1 Pharmaceutical Machinery Factory. It was specialized in the R&D and manufacture of tablet presses. In 1992, a joint venture - Shanghai Tianxiang & Chentai Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd., was set up by the said factory with the Chentai Machinery Co., Ltd. of Singapore. 

With a history of more than 80 years, Shanghai Tianxiang & Chentai Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd., has made significant contributions to the development of China’s pharmaceutical equipment industry. The market share of the company for tablet presses ranks the highest. Her products are exported to Europe, America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. The Tianxiang and "STC" are very famous brand names for pharmaceutical machines at home and abroad.

In 1938, "Tianxiang Heji Iron Works" was jointly established by seven shareholders. It became the first domestic pharmaceutical machinery enterprise with national capital. In 1957, the company was renamed "Shanghai Tianxiang Machinery Factory" after the public-private partnership. In 1966, it was renamed "Shanghai Dongfanghong Pharmaceutical Machinery Factory". In 1969, it was renamed "Shanghai No.1 Pharmaceutical Machinery Factory". In February 1992, it established a joint venture with Singapore and founded "Shanghai Tianxiang & Chentai Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd
" with a total investment of 9.58 million US dollars. Up to now, Shanghai Tianxiang & Chentai Pharmaceutical Machinery Co., Ltd has been developing and is professionally committed to providing tablet press solutions for the pharmaceutical equipment industry.
