Gantry Crane Applications & Structural Types

Gantry cranes are designed for operation in corbel-free environments such as open yards and industrial buildings without supporting brackets. They are categorized into two configurations:

Semi-Gantry Cranes: Single-leg structure with building column support

Full Gantry Cranes: Freestanding dual-leg structure
Maximum lifting capacity reaches 300 metric tons (per EN 13001-2 classification).

Structural Characteristics

The crane features a portal-frame configuration comprising:

Load-bearing main girder: Typically box-section design

Leg assemblies: Two rigid support legs mounted under main girder

Rail traveling system: Moves directly on ground-mounted tracks

Cantilever extensions (optional): Overhanging beams at both girder ends
