Product information
The pioneer of piezoelectric sensor technology is Kistler, Switzerland. Piezoelectric sensors made of piezoelectric quartz crystals can be used to measure vibration, impact and acceleration. Piezoelectric sensors require a charge amplifier to convert the signal into a voltage signal. The data collector converts the voltage signal into a digital signal and transmits it to a PC. The analysis software running on the PC can obtain various physical signals measured by the piezoelectric sensor.
The WIM sensor is a force sensor with a quartz element specifically used to measure wheel and axle loads on road vehicles. Lineas Compact sensors are optimized to provide cost-effective traffic data collection. When force is applied to the sensor, the quartz element produces a charge signal proportional to the applied force. The sensor needs to be connected to a Kistler WIM data logger. The WIM data logger converts the charge signals of all Lineas Compact WIM sensors into wheel, axle and vehicle weight and exports vehicle classification information. A WIM data recorder can cover up to 4 lanes.
