Model 5560 Pilot-Operated Breather Valve
The BasCo® Model 5560 piloted breathing valve provides safe, reliable and precise overpressure protection. The sealing structure meets the requirements of standards such as API 2000 and SY/T0511 for pilot-operated breathing valves. Suitable for low-temperature storage tanks such as LNG and liquid hydrocarbons. They are flammable and explosive hazardous chemicals storage tanks. The operating pressure is close to the maximum allowable working pressure in the tank, which provides overpressure protection and greatly reduces the cost of media loss.
Product advantages
- Pilot control maintains high seat pressure before the set pressure point, effectively avoiding product loss;
- The instant opening function can fully open at the set pressure, allowing higher setting values and overcoming freezing or stuck problems. The streamlined shape of the valve body inner cavity and the expanded outlet structure reduce pressure accumulation when the medium is released and the relief effect is better;
- Under a back-pressure balanced design, it can be connected to a closed manifold system without causing loss of valve travel or fluctuations in set pressure;
- The main valve is sealed through a membrane self-expanding structure, and its sealing performance can reach the ultra-low leakage standard in SY/T0511;
- Full start-up can be achieved by 10% overpressure;
- The seat can be returned at 93% of the set pressure, effectively reducing the loss of medium.
Functional advantages
- Overpressure 10% can be fully activated:A large unbalanced membrane is used in the middle membrane box, and the pressure is controlled through the pilot valve, so that the downward pressure on the main valve seat is much greater than the upward thrust generated by the medium. When the set pressure is reached, the pilot valve opens, and the pressure in the upper cavity of the middle bellows is quickly relieved. The upward thrust of the medium on the valve disc assembly is greater than the downward force. The main valve opens quickly and reaches fully open capacity within 10% overpressure range.
- Leak-free operation:The valve disc assembly adopts a self-expanding membrane sealing structure. When the valve is in a closed state, the lower part of the valve disc assembly is communicated with the upper cavity of the middle membrane box through a pressure guiding pipe, so that the downward force on the valve disc assembly is much greater than the upward force. The system is communicated with the inner cavity of the valve disc assembly through hollow bolts, so that the part of the sealing membrane in the valve disc assembly that contacts the outside world is always in an expanded state under the action of the system medium, ensuring the excellent performance of the system to operate without leakage.
- Not affected by back pressure:The unbalanced membrane in the middle membrane box of the main valve and the self-expanding membrane sealing structure of the valve disc assembly make the valve have good back pressure balance characteristics, so measures such as increasing the set pressure are not required.
