CIDAN Machinery Sweden, known in Sweden at the time as Göteneds Mekaniska Verkstad AB, began manufacturing machine tools in 1907. In the 1940s, Göteneds began designing and manufacturing high-quality machine tools for sheet metal processing. Over the years, we have achieved a large number of solutions and designs **, which is a development trend that we are proud of and cherish. We will continue to develop and produce machine tools for the sheet metal processing industry, and continue to provide our customers with high precision, high reliability and high strength machine tools.
Although CIDAN machine tools have been sold around the world, the design process and production of all machine tools are still completed in Götene, Sweden. We have introduced the * advanced production equipment and processing concepts, but CIDAN's core values are still consistent with those of 1907.
CIDAN MACHINERY is a fusion of 5 companies.
At the end of 2017, CIDAN Machinery acquired Forstner Maschinenbau of Austria. Forstner was founded in 1960 and has extensive experience in sheet material handling such as shear lines, leveling units, feeding mechanisms, control systems, uncoilers and rewinders. This makes CIDAN machinery the perfect combination of art and high quality in the field of sheet metal processing equipment. In 2019, CIDAN Machinery acquired Austrian nuIT, an IT expert in automation and metal decoration production. In early 2022, CIDAN Machinery acquired THALMANN, a Swiss long material folding machine manufacturer. This marks an important step for CIDAN Group in its journey as a one-stop construction sheet metal equipment factory and software developer, integrating all units from uncoiling to bending.

The company's headquarters has been established in Frauenfeld, Switzerland since 1960, where OTTO's sons RuEDI, ROLF and Peter Thalmann continue to develop this vibrant business. Under the leadership of current CEO MARCO CAPELLO, THALMANN focuses on product development improvement and global business. As an entrepreneur who has worked in different fields of sheet metal processing, Marco Cappello also believes that continuous realization of corporate value is an important driving force for success. Since 1960, we have developed and produced the highest quality long product hemming machines in the world. To achieve this, the individual elements need to cooperate optimally with each other-similar to the mechanical structure of Swiss clocks.
