South Korea's SMEC started from the Working Machinery Division under Samsung Heavy Industries in 1988 and officially separated from Samsung Group in 1999. Based on more than 30 years of accumulated technology and business philosophy, we develop, produce and sell industrial products such as machine tool equipment, semiconductor equipment, robots, and laser equipment.
In 1988, South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries Group established the Working Machinery Division;
In 1989, it signed a technical cooperation agreement with Osaka Seiko (OKK) in Japan for horizontal and vertical machining technology centers;
In 1991, he signed a technical cooperation agreement with Japan's Mori Seiki MORI-SEIK for CNC machine tools and horizontal machining centers;
In 1995, it was absorbed and merged into South Korea's Samsung Airlines;
In 1996, it reached a technical cooperation agreement with Toshiba TOSHIBA of Japan for a five-axis machining center;
In 1999, it separated from South Korea's Samsung Airlines and established SMEC Company;
In 2017, SMEC's Vietnam subsidiary was established;
In 2018, SMEC's American subsidiary was established;
In 2019, SMEC's European subsidiary was established.
