Qutools is a leading provider of quantum information solutions based in Munich, southern Germany. In 2005, Dr. Henning Weier, Professor Christian Kurtsiefer and Dr. Harald Weinfurter of the Quantum Physics Laboratory at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich founded the company. They wanted to provide "tools" for "quantum physics", so they named the company Qutools.
Initially, Qutools developed a quantum entanglement demonstration device that included a time-to-digital converter to correlate two APD signals, so it was not until QuTAU was put into use and measured timestamps with a resolution of less than 100ps and calculated consistency and correlation., Qutools then upgraded product performance to develop faster, more precise quTAG, and based on that, developed a multi-channel high-count-rate digital converter.
