COMI was established in August 1973 to design and produce thermoforming machinery, particularly for the refrigerator industry. When major developments abroad consolidated the company's leading position in the refrigerator field, management decided to expand the employee size and hire specific skilled personnel, and the company's M & A activities were also very active.
COMI already produces internally connected machines that are quickly programmable and equipped with artificial intelligence so that customers can benefit from the application of these technologies, including:
- Greater flexibility and small batch production of high-cost products
- Improve production efficiency by reducing initialization set-up time
- Reduce fault errors or downtime and monitor and detect faults with edge computing solutions
- Real-time monitoring of production through sensors allows higher product quality and less resources to be wasted
In recent years, energy costs for industrial production have been rising, forcing all manufacturing companies to pay more and more attention to controlling energy consumption. COMI has long pushed its mechanical design to take this requirement into account and implement solutions to reduce energy consumption. Some significant energy-saving solutions for the production of COMI thermoforming machines:
- Optimize hot forming process to reduce sheet thickness
- The Venturi vacuum generator replaces traditional pumps that require continuous operation
- Shaft compensation is performed through the pneumatic system, which limits the motor to be used only for positioning operations
