Budrus originated from a mechanical engineering company founded in 1949. In 1974, Budrus took over the Spandau internal cylindrical grinding machines product line and in 1984 merged the thread grinding business of Herbert Lindner AG in Berlin. Traditional internal grinding machines were replaced by CNC technology in 1982. The first generation of CNC internal thread, CNC external thread and tap grinders was subsequently introduced in 1987.
Budrus as we know it today was finally founded in 1989. The company was affiliated with the Pitler Group in 1990. Budrus and Pitler were acquired by the Rosenberg Group six years later. Today, Budroux Grindtechnik GmbH is a strong partner and a member of the DVS Group.
