PRÄWEMA has a company history of more than 110 years. It is the German abbreviation of Präzisions-Werkzeug-Maschine (Precision Machine Tool) and has been standing in the international machine tool market for a long time.
When the company was founded in 1980, it mainly produced guide shaft lathes. PRÄWEMA is now located in Eschweig and has approximately 300 employees. It has grown into a manufacturer of special gear process machine tools, for which the company is known around the world.
As a medium-sized company within the DVS Group in the field of hard and finish gear machining, PRÄWEMA has further developed gear honing into a first-class machining method and become an international market and technology leader.
As hybrid and electric vehicles become increasingly popular, new areas of application have emerged in the manufacturing of individual parts. Previously, the internal teeth of the ring gear of automobile transmissions did not need to be finished. But with the growing demand for noise reduction in the current drive chain, the new generation of vehicles requires maximum smoothness to meet the comfort needs of end users. PRÄWEMA's vertical machine tool series provides a platform for independent integration of primary and secondary processes, which means that all gear cutting processes can be carried out, regardless of whether soft or hard.
According to customer requirements, gear production can use processes such as strong tooth scraping, and parts can be hard and finished in the same system after heat treatment. PRÄWEMA has many years of experience in hard and finish machining of such internal tooth honing.
In addition to flexible production systems, we can now provide one-stop turnkey processes. PRÄWEMA has also expanded tool production for this purpose. As a system supplier to the DVS Group, PRÄWEMA provides not only production systems, but also tool fixtures. We can optimize the design and production process in this regard and plan it into cooperation with the final operator. All in all: PRÄWEMA is responsible for the entire process.
