The origin of AVL Liszt and China
AVL's connection with China dates back to 1926. Professor Hans Liszt, the founder of the company, was invited to the famous Tongji University in Shanghai, China, to preside over the management of the internal combustion engine department, mechanical laboratory and school thermal power plant. Later he returned to Europe, but his heart stayed in China.
After the establishment of AVL Company in 1948, Professor Hans Liszt and AVL Company have always given top priority to cultivating first-class scientific and technological talents for China and supporting the independent and rapid development of China's engine industry. They donated technology and equipment to scientific research and education units such as Tongji University and Jilin University of Technology; established a scholarship to support outstanding Chinese students and carry out academic exchange visits; and developed and designed China's automobile, train, marine and industrial engines., modification and optimization, and invited Chinese technicians to participate in relevant important technical work, cultivate talents in the Chinese engine field in practice, and support the independent development of the Chinese engine industry. At the same time, Hans Liszt and Helmut Liszt were honorary professors at many universities and members of the prestigious Sohmem Foundation.
Since Mr. Helmut Liszt began to advocate the company's global concept of operating in the 1980s, AVL has employed approximately 11000 employees around the world, and has 45 subsidiaries and branches around the world. At the same time, AVL has 26 technology centers in Germany, France, Sweden, the United Kingdom, the United States, South Korea and China. In addition, by supporting the needs of multinational customers and their joint ventures through global processes, AVL has become a practitioner of the concept of globalization.
In 2005, AVL established a wholly-owned subsidiary in Shanghai: Liszt Test Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., which is mainly responsible for the business dealings of Austrian AVL Liszt products in China. Liszt Test Equipment (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has branches in Guangzhou, Chongqing, Wuhan and Beijing. The company currently has more than 400 employees and has established close cooperation with 400 core customers in the China automobile industry. It also provides support for more new forces in car building. As of 2021, AVL Group has 1100 + benches, 500 + emission analyzers, 450 + chassis dynamometers, 300 + battery test benches and 5000 other instruments used and recognized by China customers.
Relying on the knowledge and experience of AVL Group's global professional team, AVL China can complete the design, simulation and development of various gasoline and diesel engines for commercial vehicles and passenger cars locally, helping China customers quickly master powertrain electrification technology (hybrid drive, Range Extender, electrification, battery management). For foreign companies trying to enter the China market, AVL provides solutions that can meet the needs of the China market (fuel, special power systems, customer requirements for driving performance). On-site support and advanced R & D equipment from local AVL China employees, such as an independent battery laboratory, help customers achieve zero-distance contact with AVL's knowledge body and efficiently complete complex R & D projects locally.
In addition to the R & D office, AVL China also has advanced laboratories, engine test benches, chassis dynamometers and emission equipment. The technology center pays special attention to safety concepts, and customers can conduct tests here with great confidence.
AVL China has carried out many R & D projects that help China customers grow rapidly. It also provides strong technical support to foreign-funded enterprises entering the China market. It is the preferred partner for environmentally friendly, energy-saving and emission-reducing enterprises.
