In 1888, BURKHARDT+Weber began manufacturing machine tools in Reutlingen, Germany. Of course, we are not the only machine tool manufacturer, but we are constantly recognized in the international market as a pioneer in the machine tool industry.
In 1951, BURKHARDT+WEBER manufactured the first special line in Europe; in 1959, BURKHARDT+WEBER demonstrated the first CNC machining center-perforated tape control to the world. BW was a pioneer in digital control technology, manufacturing the first true rack tool magazine, and today it remains the world leader in tool magazine technology-often copied, never identical, automatic tool extension technology and many other inventions create BW's classic.
Today, 250 employees continue their long-standing tradition of producing large, precision and customized machining centers. Continuous training and the latest PLM system ensure our top technology.
In 2012, BW of Germany became a member of Romi Industries, Brazil's largest machine tool manufacturer.
