Since its establishment in 1955 by the brothers Helmut and Erich Loepfe, the company has been the pacesetter for innovation in textile quality control. Loepfe has established itself in the field of optical yarn clearers with pioneering achievements. Today, Loepfe is considered world-wide as the specialist for integral quality control systems. Fifty percent of the world-wide staple yarn production are monitored by Loepfe yarn clearers.
Loepfe invented the optical yarn clearer. Optics, electronics and software are the foundation of our technical competence from which unique innovations and patents emerged. Optical yarn clearing is and remains the ideal measuring principle because the quality of the end-product is eventually assessed by the human eye.
