Since its establishment in 1935, Linke has been committed to designing and developing diversified test systems and testing services for the transportation industry. Its products are widely used in the fields of braking, transmission, steering, tires, hubs, bearings, and motors, and its technical level is far ahead of the world. Linke is headquartered in Plymouth, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit), USA, and provides testing services, test system sales and customer support to global customers through its service outlets in the United States, Brazil, China, Japan, Germany, South Korea, and India. With its rich industry knowledge, diversified testing services, and advanced testing systems, Linke has been highly recognized by customers.
In 1935, Herbert Link founded LINK in his basement, mainly producing tap wrenches and edge sizers.
In 1936, LINK relocated the company to Detroit, Michigan.
In 1940, LINK established its first independent factory in Detroit. The company expanded into motor repair and acquired United Electric from General Motors.
In 1960, LINK designed and manufactured the first inertia brake test bench. In the next few years, this series of equipment ushered in the vigorous development of LINK in the automobile manufacturing industry.
In 1970, Herbert's son Roy began working full-time for the company. Roy quickly brought great development and benefits to LINK in the automobile manufacturing industry.
In 1980, the LINK Test Laboratory was established in Detroit to provide third-party independent testing services in the auto parts industry. The facility has further developed into an extensive laboratory serving brake systems, gearboxes, wheels and hubs, among others.
In 1989, Roy was appointed CEO/President of LINK.
In 1990, LINK established a new R & D and manufacturing headquarters in Plymouth, Michigan, where the company developed ProLINK, a powerful and industry-leading bench control system.
In 2000, LINK established its first test laboratory in South Korea and opened sales offices in China, Germany, Brazil and Japan. At the beginning of the 21st century, LINK's global market continued to expand, and multiple laboratories and vehicle test centers, as well as road test sites, have been established in the United States, China, Brazil and Germany.
In 2014, LINK added servo dynamic capabilities to its business through the acquisition of Dynamic Test Equipment (DTE).
At the end of 2017, LINK acquired Tescor and expanded its business into air conditioning testing and environmental control systems. And opened a new vehicle testing center in Huangshan, China.
In 2019, LINK moved its corporate team to its new headquarters in mouth, Michigan, and established LINK Group Inc., Supervise LINK Engineering Company, Tescor and LINK Industries.
